History

In the Middle Ages, the Chevron family has built a castle on an island in the middle of a lake, linked to the land by a bridge in stones. This is when “Pont-chevron” name was given to this land and after to the castle. It is the count Louis d’Harcourt that has built the current castle in 1897 who gave the name to this land.

During the last century, Pont-Chevron has welcomed famous guests like the Queen Amelie from Portugal, the King Alphonse XIII from Spain…

The Count Louis d’Harcourt, diplomat in Asia and Europe, has brought several souvenirs as well as numerous friendships from all around the world. His wife, born Lanjuinais, is the direct descendent of Jean-Denis Lanjuinais, one of the drafters of the Constitution of year II and one of the most famous lawyer of the 19th century under Napoleon’s rule.

His descendents are perpetuating with passion the Pont-Chevron life style.
